Store Manager
Houston, Texas

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Second Blessing Store along with managing store staff and store volunteers. Will work to maintain a high level of customer and staff satisfaction. Establish sales and profitability goals. Make sure that the store operations are running effectively, efficiently and develop plans for growth.​​

Essential Functions

  • Enforce established policies.
  • Prepare and recommend goals and objectives for the store consistent with WHAM policies and practices.
  • Responsible for the training and assignment of store volunteers and staff.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of sales data and timely opening and closing procedures.
  • Responsible for meeting monthly sales targets
  • Implements and monitors pricing, stocking and inventory, including the disposal of excess and stale dated inventory items.
  • Maintain outstanding store conditions and visual merchandising based on current customer trends.
  • Propose innovative ideas for advertising and programs to increase customers and store traffic.
  • Responsible for reports required by agencies and foundations for some volunteers.
  • Conduct performance reviews for staff.
  • Deal with issues that arise from staff or customers.
  • Network with other stores and organizations
  • Review monthly and year-to-date statistics and goals of the store’s performance.
  • Participates in planning and executing the budget for the store.
  • Organizing staff work schedules and assigning duties.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.  

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position: Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Required Education and Experience
At least 5 years of experience in a retail store
At least 2 years in a supervisory role.
