Sonya Scott

Sonya Scott has been with West Houston Assistance Ministries for 9 years. She began as a volunteer and had only volunteered for one day before being hired as the Administrative Assistant for Care Ministries. Now, Sonya is the Director of Client Services and oversees the Care Ministry, Food Pantry, Job Search and English as a Second Language Program.
Sonya is from Greenville, Mississippi. She attended Mississippi Delta Community College in Moorehead, MS where she received an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Business Technology. She also attended New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM where she received a Bachelors of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Services with a concentration in Hotel Management.
Sonya believes that her career was chosen for her by a Higher Power. She says each day she feels blessed to be able to help clients and in some cases, impact their lives.
Sonya is a member of The Professional Group, Coalition for the Homeless, Post Oak Persuaders, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., and is active in her church, Higher Dimension Church.
